Marlen’s Story

Marlen has been attending the church for 10 months. She was forced to leave Tennessee in the US and arrived with no place to live. Six months ago, her son was killed and she now cares for her grandson.

Marlen has started a successful business providing basic items for the neighborhood. She wants to expand to include rice, beans, and other household staples.

She was given her second loan of 11,000 Lempiras ($600 US) This included a refinance of 600 Lempiras from her first loan of 4000 Lempiras. Payments are twice a month and a detailed record of expenditures is required.
